Calico Junction is a fabric boutique designed for busy women who know the value of creativity and sewing. First time visitors are awed by the quilts and wall hangings displayed everywhere they look through the store. With our eclectic range of fabrics, from Alexander Henry to Hoffman to Thimbleberries, we create unique shop samples to inspire your imagination. Calico Junction has over 3,000 bolts of fabric, hundreds of books and patterns, and all the extras needed to complete your projects. We stay on top of the newest trends, so our inventory is constantly changing.
Purses, bags and totes are the “in thing” right now, and we have dozens of samples and patterns. We quilt them, embellish them, button them and zip them. We also make a lot of fun aprons, unusual blouses and jazzy jackets. To embellish your creations we offer a large supply of buttons, bling, beads and trims. Just Another Button Co. supplies us with wonderfully fun buttons, and we have JHB buttons ranging from functional to elegant.
Thimbleberries, Alexander Henry and More
With Thimbleberries fabrics, we order them as soon as we see them. We have all the warm rich colors of RJR’s Thimbleberries Collection. We carry some of the other beautiful lines from RJR fabrics. Delightful fabrics from the successful Art to Heart line by Benartex, fun, exciting pieces from Timeless Treasures and Alexander Henry, and exquisite Hoffman fabrics can be found through the shop. And, you won’t want to miss out on our extensive selection of wovens, batiks, florals, dogs, cats and flannels. Our Christmas fabrics start showing up as early as April. We definitely believe you can’t start too early! Halloween fabrics start arriving in June. We give you plenty of time to finish all your projects.
Unique quilt kits are a specialty at Calico Junction. When a new pattern or line of fabric arrives, we often create kits before the fabric is even put on the shelves. Visitors love to find quilt kits for the fabulous shop models we have designed. In addition to our quality 100% cotton fabrics, we carry the latest books and patterns from Thimbleberries, Art to Heart, Atkinson Designs, Gathering Friends and Possibilities. Special Events
Quilters enjoy the company of other quilters, and we offer some great opportunities for you to meet and make new friends while learning, laughing and quilting with us. In addition to our diverse class selections (for novice to advanced), we invite you to attend two weekend retreats a year at Lake of the Woods. The first retreat is held in May and the second in October. From Friday afternoon until after Sunday brunch, you will sew your way through an original mystery quilt, and enjoy great food, cozy accommodations and a truly fun group of ladies.
For the second year we are joining with two other quilt shops, Tater Patch Quilts and Sew Unique Quilts, in sponsoring a long weekend retreat in August at the Running Y Resort. Each of the three shops creates an original quilt to delight your creative energy. The shop owners complement each other beautifully, which can only enrich the experience for the participants. Last years’ retreat received rave reviews from the attendees and we are confident that this year will be exceptional, also.
Each year we hold a fat quarter sale on September 25th to celebrate owner Vickie Kiser’s birthday. Vickie’s present to you is fat quarters at a bargain price: 25 fat quarters for $25. There is no limit on the number of fat quarters you may buy, but they must be in lots of 25, and you must be here in Medford, Oregon to celebrate with us.

Twisted Dreams Patterns by Vickie Kiser
Vickie’s pattern company, Twisted Dreams, grew out of her interest and experience in designing all those mysteries for the Lake of the Woods quilting retreats. Each pattern is unique and can be successfully completed by the less experienced quilter, yet offers enough interest for the more advanced individual.
Vickie’s talented use of colors will inspire you when you are choosing color and fabrics to enhance your patterns. Twisted Dreams pattern directions are fully illustrated and clearly described in a step-by-step format. Each of these unique patterns can be found in our shopping area.
